Story of Koncham Ishtam Koncham KastamThe film Konchem Ishtam Konchem Kashtam raised a lot of expectations with the novel promotion and a good star cast but in the end the film turns out to be another routine teenage love story and how they overcome obstacles in the form of parents and succeed in their love.
Geeta Subrahmanyam (Tamanna) is the daughter of Subrahmanyam (Nazar). He is a rich landlord and he loves his daughter very much and she also loves her dad in equal measure.
Geeta is sent to her uncle house in the city to pursue her higher education. Geeta meets Siddhartha Varma (Siddhu) who is a friend of her cousin. Siddhu is a flirt and is seen all the time chasing girls. Geeta naturally detests him but as one sees in every film; she slowly falls in love with Siddhu.
Siddhu approaches Geeta’s father Subrahmanyam and tells him that he loves his daughter and wants to marry her. Subrahmanyam rejects the proposal. He says that if Geeta wants to leave him and go with her lover, it is fine.
But Geeta is an adamant girl. She tells her father that she will not forget her love and at the same time she will not marry her lover unless he approves of their loves and performs their marriage.
Subrahmanyam’s objection to their love is that Siddhu’s parents are living separately. Prakash Raj and Ramya Krishna part ways some 18 years ago owing to some misunderstanding. Subrahmanyam asks Siddhu to unite his parents’ first and then he will agree to give his daughter’s hand in marriage to him.
The rest of the story is how Geeta and Siddhu try and bring Prakash Raj and Ramya Krishna together.
Performance:
Siddhartha is at his best in the film. He fits into the role of a Casanova and also a true lover perfectly. Siddhu also gives a good account of himself as a loving son, both to his mother and his father.
Prakash Raj once again comes up with a neat and riveting performance.
Tamanna is okay. She comes up with some very hot and exposing scenes, particularly in a couple of song sequences. She is good as a glamour doll but needs to hone up her acting skills. She fails to do justice in the emotional scenes.
Ramya Krishna comes up with an impressive performance and she is still as charming and sensuous as ever.
For Nazar, the role is a cake walk. He has essayed similar roles in many films before and he does full justice to his brief but crucial role.
Brahmanandam plays the role of Gachibowli Diwakar, a wannabe cricketer who thinks he is next only to Sunil Gavaskar and Sachin Tendulkar. His comedy is just average.
The music is good and the re-recording is also okay. The photography is good and many scenes look like some picture postcards. There are eight songs in the film and one feels that a couple of songs can be done away with.
The film is a good effort by debutant director Kishore Parthasarathy. The first half is light hearted and runs at a good pace.
The film turns heavy in the second half and this in turn affects the overall impact of the film.
